The Gospel Message

Life's Shortness

Life with all its difficulties and at times with it joys is brief and eventually your life is over. There is one thing that makes the way you live your life important and it is the next life. This page is for those who love the truth enough to change, enough to leave their current belief if they discover the truth. We all believe we have the truth and it takes courage, dedication to the truth and Heaven Coach is here to assist you. If the gospel had not be distorted, changed there would be no need for coaching people in the gospel message. Unfortunately, since the gospel message was first taught there have been those changing the message. It is the message of your salvation, the one thing you need to have a successful life. The vast majority of the world either believes they already have the truth or believe there is no truth, and for many there is no God. Paul below describes the gospel as the most important thing by indicating it is the first thing he teaches. On this page you will see the gospel message presented in a clear straightforward manner that is perfectly consistent with all scripture. You will know God’s purpose, His plan for humankind and how the gospel message fulfills His purpose. It will all make perfect sense and it will especially be shocking in terms of what you and so many others have been taught.

Gospel Preached

You may be a Catholic, a Protestant, a non-denominational Christian or you may just refer to yourself as a Christian and it is very possible that you have never heard the gospel preached or correctly understood what you have read. Impossible, seemingly one would think so and yet if you have never heard or read what is presented on this page, inasmuch as it teaches the truth from scripture then you have been mislead. Yes, of course the gospel is only contained in the word of God, the bible. If there was not so much outright deception regarding the gospel message, there would be no need for this page. God has clearly provided the gospel message and yet few are taught that message. Paul tells us in Galatians the first chapter that there were those who were changing the gospel. Now, after something less than 2000 years there are many, many new gospels. At this point there is little truth to be found. This page and it’s references to other pages of Heaven Coach and author websites will answer HOW this has happened. The short answer is certain organizations, especially Roman Catholicism and individuals such as Martin Luther and John Calvin have influenced much of the “Christian” world with their personal interpretations of the “Gospel Message.” They failed to have sufficient respect for the word of God. There are various contributing factors that have perplexed/distorted GOD’S MESSAGE such as scientific thought that opposes God and a modern media that is in opposition to God and the bible. It is no wonder that there is such confusion in relation to the message from God. God makes it clear that the confusion does not come from Him.

1 Cor 14:33

33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace

You may carry a bible with you and study it frequently and listen to others teaching from it. However, that does not mean you know the gospel message. You may believe you trust in God, but what you believe may demonstrate you trusted in humankind’s version of the truth. There is power in the gospel message for those that love the truth. The gospel is God’s power to save and there is no other road for you to heaven.

Romans 1.16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The word of truth of the gospel is what every person needs to be successful in life. There are various circumstances where the gospel message is taught, but the content, the basics you need will always be the same. The opportunity may be with a person or group who rigidly hold to their current beliefs. It may be an individual who wonders if there is any truth. It may be a person or group who is very adversarial and not prepared to hear the gospel message. People usually need of some background information to help their understanding. Such was the case the first time the gospel message was preached. Peter spoke to a group of Jews gathered in Jerusalem for Pentecost shortly after the Jewish leaders coerced Pontius Pilate into having Jesus crucified. The message Peter spoke would go back into Jewish history recalling some of the prophecy regarding the Messiah, mentioning the things David prophesied about the Messiah and telling the group that what they were seeing this very day was prophesied in Joel 2.28-32 …………. “this is what.” Peter would say they were RIGHT NOW witnessing and participating in the prophecy, THIS IS WHAT, that is, the prophecy spoken by Joel.

Acts 2.16-21

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’

When you understand God, you will understand that the wonders mentioned above are not literal, but represent dramatically what was happening that day in Jerusalem. The heavens were being shaken, there was a changing of the order and the magnitude was so great that it deserved this kind of description. Finally, Genesis 3.15 had been fulfilled with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and now the deeper meaning of what Jesus had done would be revealed. People for the first time since the sin in the Garden of Eden could be reconciled to God by THE GOSPEL MESSAGE. Jesus’ sacrifice would be meaningless unless people could take advantage of what God had done in Christ. The way to take advantage of the sacrifice of God’s Son is revealed in the gospel message.

Open Your Mind To The Gospel Message

Just shortly (on this page), we will look at the words used by Peter the first time the gospel message was preached. Peter’s spoke under the influence of the Holy Spirit (which the apostles just received) and the context involved what the Jews had done to their Messiah. Shortly after that on another occasion, it was Philip teaching one-on-one to the Ethiopian and the context was a question that he asked of Philip. Phillip would answer that question and then deliver the gospel message. Another time an angel directs Peter to Cornelius, who will become the first Gentile to hear the gospel preached and obey it. In all cases, the circumstances are different and thus the discussion surrounding each presentation of the gospel message is different, but the gospel message is the same. Just to be clear, you need the right message and then obey the gospel and live faithfully throughout the remainder of your life.
You should only believe the message on this page if you understand it to be the truth. That is quite different than those who say you must believe this or that. God did not leave us without evidence of Himself and His plans. The hope would be that you would open your mind to the message of the gospel and that means be willing to reject what you currently believe – very tough, but heaven is at stake. I find that in the so-called “Christian world” there is as much fervor as in any other religion to protect current beliefs. In other words, safe-guarding what is currently believed is more important than if it is the truth!

Preparing For The Gospel Message

Peter spoke to the Jews in preparation for delivering the gospel message of things needful for them to hear. The following is a preamble for much of what the world needs to know today. In that first gospel message, the response to Peter’s remarks was, “What must we do.”
So most people today need a little background before hearing the gospel message. Basically, they need a better understanding of God. This would not be necessary if it were not for all the worldly indoctrination about God. It is an indoctrination that occurs like osmosis and without announcement and gradually you form a belief system that you might think belongs to you – but usually it does not. This philosophy belongs to those who have cunningly (or perhaps with good intentions) devised reasonably convincing doctrines that are not true. The problem is, it is a message that will bring eternal grief to those who abide by it. The philosophy, for instance may promote one or several of the beliefs below:

> There is no God
> All life is the result of random events
> Science explains our existence
> Religion has caused most of the world’s problems. (Although this is true you cannot substitute the word religion with the word God and therein lies the problem with this statement)
> You will go out of existence when You die
> Simply accepting Jesus as savior will save and safeguard a person until they achieve heaven

You can imagine not getting very far in preaching the gospel with a person who believes any of these things (or hundreds of other human philosophies). That is, a person who is really not listening. Thus, to simply indicate that their belief is wrong or weak or unsubstantiated and without evidence might help or might antagonize. Thus, adding a few reasons WHY these things are not true or why they are “weak” can help. However, UNDERSTANDING GOD in a better way can help discourage worldly beliefs about life and life’s purpose. This is the case even if their core belief is that there is no God. Seems unlikely, but providing a person with a rational, bible view of God and His purpose can be very helpful simply because God makes more sense than something like the Big Bang theory or the theory of Organic Evolution. In addition, providing a viable answer to your existence and having everything fit perfectly together in the message from God will be very powerful. One of the strangest things is that very few people understand the bible and yet everyone seems to have a strong opinion about it. So, when the bible is explained correctly it is usually a shock. This is because they have accepted one of the many distorted worldly views of the bible. Of course, it would be foolish to think many people will eagerly listen to anyone who speaks of the bible or of God. The indoctrination against God and the bible has been very effective. God, of course understands humankind and the desire of most for short term gains and thus the lack of concern, the lack of seriousness about the eternal. It is fair to say that much of the world looks at spiritual things as foolishness and that includes the most important of messages, that is the gospel message. As the scriptures teach, “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Science Can Be An Impediment
To Opening Your Mind To The Gospel Message

Science, really science and engineering bring wonderful things to comfort and enrich our physical existence, but only bring destructive things to our spiritual well-being when they attempt to speak authoritatively on things beyond their capability. In cases where science evolved its knowledge based on a series of failures and successes in experimentation there is good reason to be appreciative. However, to believe science in areas where there is no evidence, and no meaningful experimentation, but instead just conjecture and theory is unwise. We can only understand the deeper things of life, of our existence if they come from a spiritual source, namely God. Many years ago, the Catholic church condemned the science of the day and they were wrong to do so. Science, in those days was not speaking on religious matters, of spiritual things just things about the physical universe, about our world – physical things and things that would eventually be proven/disproved. First, Catholicism is perhaps the greatest deceiver humankind has ever devised and thus the greatest destroyer of souls. Out of the actions of Catholicism over a period of hundreds of years came the idea of science and God (the God of the bible) were in opposition. Some of the prejudice against God among the scientific community to this day is the result of the actions of Catholicism in cases such as Galileo. God is not the problem, but Catholicism in their thirst for control, for maintaining power created a fear and distrust of religion. It is unfortunate that few make the distinction between the religions of humankind and God. Even today, there is nothing wrong with science theorizing on any subject, but a person needs to differentiate between what is theory and what is fact.

God created all things and thus true, correct science is in perfect agreement with God. God’s people have no interest in battling with the theories taught by science. However, they do realize the prejudice and the limits science has in matters of God and creation. God’s people are aware that many of the things taught by science are not true and often wish science would admit and emphasize they are only theories. It is true that science will go a very long way to convince others of their ever-changing beliefs no matter how silly, how ridiculous. Unfortunately, science and their converts wield a great deal of power and things like the theory of organic evolution and the big-bang are taught to young minds. There is only one reason to teach these things and that is to provide something other than God as the creator and especially the God of the bible. The idea of answering to God for their life’s deeds is unbearable to many in the field of science.

note or side-bar:
Interestingly, the Catholic Church is also the reason there is so much paranoia regarding what is called separation of church and state. This is not the subject here, but you can read “Church and State” to have a better understanding of how God views the local church being involved with matters of state. Additionally, it might help to read “church” to understand the very limited, strict rules regarding the authorized work of the local church. Clearly, the local church has no authority to become involved in the government where the church is located. Individual members could become involved in righteous activities of the government, try to change things for the better, but not in any way could the local church support such activity. God wants His people to be obedient to the government and not be trouble makers, of course unethical, immoral matters require objection, not compliance. Nonetheless, the church has a infinitely higher mission and it is not to stop the immorality of the world, but to preach the gospel message.
In this note, the references (above) explain the difference between the local church and the universal church. In the scriptures the word universal church is not used, but there is clearly a single body containing all those who are Christian. It is the body of Christ and it is spiritual and you are added to that church also referred to as the kingdom by Christ when you obey the gospel. The local church consists of those who live in a local region and follow the pattern laid down by the apostles, who were guided into truth by the Holy Spirit.

(back to science as an impediment)

Prejudice is the common characteristic of many in the “evolutionary” community. One of the great mysteries of life is how anyone can be so devoted to some idea, so convinced of its validity that they will lie UNTIL they have the evidence to prove their point. This has never been more true than in the case of the science of humankind’s existence. Few admit to their commitment to a doctrine that has compromised their integrity. However, here is one famed geneticist who was very blunt.
Professor Richard Lewontin, a geneticist, is certainly one of the world’s leaders in evolutionary biology. He wrote this very revealing comment. It illustrates the implicit philosophical bias against Genesis creation—regardless of whether or not the facts support it.

“We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.
It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is an absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”

The above statement is both rare and common, rare since few will publish their thoughts of deep prejudice against God’s existence and common because so many will verbalize they cannot accept the existence of God and especially a God with rules. Einstein clearly knew there was a God, but could not accept a moral God who judged the actions of humankind. He knew the obvious that all “this” did not just happen. If you read “Common Sense” you will see how Robert Jastrow was amazed how his colleagues felt about a discovery that pointed to God. They would work day and night to come up with some way to show their finding still pointed away from God. Truth, he realized was not the issue, but they were driven by deep prejudice and needed to be comforted by a new scientific theory assuring them that there was an answer other than God.

Focus On The Scriptures
STOP Wandering and Wondering

There Is No Positive Value
In Humankind’s Explanation Of Things They Cannot Understand

God’s people have a directive and it is to preach the gospel. It is a spiritual message meaning it has to do with spiritual things and these are unseen things. This would include your soul, spirit, sin, your next existence – eternity, heaven, forgiveness of sins, God’s purpose and plan and of course the gospel message. All these spiritual things are revealed ONLY in God’s word.

John 6.63

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

God differentiates spiritual and physical things in a most revealing and clear manner in Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 4.16-18

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The things not seen are eternal and it is the unseen things that are emphasized by God’s people. God’s people are those who have obeyed the gospel and were added to the spiritual kingdom by the Lord. Such people see some of science’s beliefs as impediments to the truth. They realize the errors because they are inconsistent with God’s word. Some of these errors will become evident on this page. The business of God’s people is to preach the word and thus they move forward with the truth of the gospel. Science cannot convince me there is no God or could I convince science there is a God in a scientific debate. One reason is that the science of God (if I can call it that) is not limited by the science of humankind. As a result, there will never be an undeniable scientific answer to the question of God’s existence or lack of existence. Those who follow the theories of science in relation to God’s non-existence can observe there is a never ending series of new theories, often building on the earlier theory as being true. In fact, in their hurry to find an alternative to God, THEY IN NO WAY EXCLUDE THE POSSIBILITY OF HIS EXISTENCE. God, if they think about it is always a possibility simply by the definition of God. In the ignorance of the Atheist, they not only provide alternatives for creation, for life and for intelligent life, but they say that there is no God. How could they know this? They very obviously could not know!

If you focus on the unknowable in your life, like scientifically understanding creation, you will gain nothing. Such pursuits distract and along with your dedication to a no-God existence will likely mean you will never look for the truth about life. Therefore, seriously consider seeking God and that does not mean seeking the religions of humankind, which would be even more confusing and ultimately costly to your eternity.

Science in the areas of God and creation live in speculation and as mentioned prejudice, which really originates in pride. Is it really so hard to believe that people do whatever they must to get what they want? Over a period of time, the originators of the various non-God doctrines have died, but the next generation of godless believers carry on the teaching and every bit as fervently. The bottom line is people either believe God (God’s word) or they believe a doctrine of humankind. You might guess which would be more appealing – yes human doctrines are typically quite attractive, whereas God’s test has its personal challenges and limitations (in terms of what God defines as sin).
Religion is every bit as damaging to the the truth as is science. In fact, a great deal of the “scientific” godless prejudice comes from observing the tyranny of religion. Religious leaders often act as though they speak for God. They frequently present God as much more accepting, enabling than the scriptures indicate. That is not the God of the bible!

Fascinating and Incredibly Sad

There is great excitement among those who oppose God when they can claim or suggest there is no God for this reason or that. They become so enthralled trying to show there is no god that their thinking in this area is totally illogical. It seems they believe that the combination of hundreds of un-provable, dubious and untrue statements or ideas add up to something that is true. There is nothing more fascinating as humankind making some discovery and then twisting it to chalk up another victory for their “no-god position.” It might be a discovery in genetics, in physics, in chemistry, in astronomy or any of the sciences and suddenly humankind is the master of the world – we do not need a God any longer. One recent commentator who commands a very large and broad audience uses the idea of scientific discovery to indicate we no longer need God, because we can explain everything. As he said we no longer need a master clock maker (his reference to God); we have gravity (in reference to Isaac Newton’s discovery). Of course, God created all the laws that we experience and that we can discover. Where did gravity, DNA, the laws of thermodynamics originate? Did they just happen (or have the ability to happen) when “NOTHING” banged 13.7 billion years ago? Every scientist should be dedicated to the word of God, because therein is truth and with every discovery there should be more awe in relation to God. However, scientist’s are no different than anyone else, that is, there is pride, selfishness and things desired that God does not allow. So the dedication is to proving there is no God and with such bias they proceed to be very prejudiced scientists, which I think is the equivalent of not being a scientist.

In today’s world there is little freedom for scientists to think different than their colleagues – without worldly consequences. If you think Galileo was treated badly by the Catholic Church, you need only to look at the pain/unfairness that colleagues, institutions inflict on fellow scientists who might challenge or even imply doubts regarding the theory of evolution or Big Bang.

There will be eternal retribution for those who stood against God, His word and His Son and I have no clear idea of what that will be except it will be awful. However, I suspect for a scientist who opposed God, that the pain from their pride that resulted in a failure to see the obviousness of God will be devastating. Their unwillingness to search for truth and learn that the EVIL AND CRUELTY OF RELIGION had nothing to do with God – but such things came from ungodly men and women who claimed to be of God. Their unwillingness to realize that God was always a possibility and really that only God makes sense in terms of the origins of everything will be haunting in its obviousness. God has His input on this subject and He tells humankind that His ways are past finding out. Humankind will never understand God unless God reveals such understanding.

Romans 11.33

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Understand God Correctly

It is clearly science versus the God of the bible, that is God. Heaven Coach emphasizes that so many reject God for things they attribute to God, which in fact represent things that men and women of religion have done in the name of God, but in fact God abhors. A second significant category of “mistaken identity” comes into play when the godless person looks at science and the bible and not understanding the scriptures draws various erroneous conclusions. One common conclusion is knowing the APPARENT age of the universe (billions of years) and simultaneously being aware that the bible only accounts for something less than 6000 years and thus the bible cannot be true. Here is what is missed:
> The bible says nothing about the age of the earth although some men and women count the ages of certain persons beginning with Adam and conclude that total is the age of the earth. It actually might be right since God could easily create everything with different appearances of age. However, we do not know the age of the earth, the universe because God does not reveal its age. Also as you understand God better, you will know that the age of the earth is not important from the point of view of God’s purpose.
> God is the master of space and time and really everything and could create the universe as He did Adam. That is, not as a baby, but as a physically mature person of some age. It is as though we try to limit God’s ability.
> God’s interest is not in His physical creation, but his purpose is focused on the souls of each person.
> The important thing that comes from Genesis the first chapter is that the God of the bible, is God.
> God is the creator of all things.
> Creation was simple for God.
> His creation of humankind was special and in fact was a creation in His own image. One thing that means is that human beings have a soul, they are eternal since their creation in His image makes them like God inasmuch (for one thing) as God is eternal.

distraction because the outcome will be eternally devastating.

Underestimating God’s Power

It is interesting how people underestimate God’s power and in the process find all kinds of reasons for rejecting God. Once God’s power is realized, then the problems people have with God often vanish. Perhaps the most important thing to understand about God’s power is a simple idea regarding the application of God’s power. The power of God that people often understand is His infinite ability to do anything in essentially an effortless manner. He speaks things into existence, He has control over every particle in our physical existence (atoms, sub-atomic particles and so-on). All the laws that govern our physical world are from God and made as complementary to humankind’s existence. The existence of life and intelligent life were simple creations for God. The thing that differentiates humankind from every other piece of God’s creation is the fact that they were created in the image of God and simplifying this at the moment means you have a spiritual existence – an eternal quality.
If we dig a little deeper, we can reach the point of understanding God’s power in a most important matter. God’s purpose is to determine who is worthy among those with spirits(humankind) to achieve heaven. God wants the best and He will only accept the best. We see that in times past, even beginning with Cain and Abel, Abraham and so-on, God required sacrifices that were perfect, for example a lamb without spot or blemish. The details of worship to God were strictly along the lines of His directions. We see Cain, Nadab and Abihu, King Saul and others deviating from God’s directions with dire consequences. Jesus came as the means to open the door that would allow humankind’s reconciliation back to God. Jesus’ sacrifice would have to be perfect without spot or blemish, this meant Jesus would live a sinless life. One can see that God does not accept just anything, He never has and He never will. The religions of the world often paint a very enabling God and that is exceedingly misleading.

The Focus of God’s Power – Understand THIS and
Your understanding of Life Will Be Greatly Increased

Now, the power of God that people often miss, which is so critical to the success of each person is that God’s MEANS of reconciliation was perfect. Humankind is always finding fault with the scriptures, but the scriptures in their perfection separate those who are prideful, selfish from those who are humble and considerate, courageous, open-minded and thus possess the characteristics God seeks. The scriptures point to the word of God as perfect in converting the soul. People, who do not fit what God requires look at the scriptures and reject them and thus reject heaven. Whereas, if people only judge God’s power in terms of His creative ability in the things we see, the earth, universe and all the in-built laws that govern our existence, THEY MISS THE REAL POWER OF GOD. All those things we observe in awe are of no consequence to God. He could have created those things in an infinite number of ways. The reason for creation is YOU. Each person will make a decision for or against God, the God of the bible. A decision for God means you obey God, obey the gospel message. A decision against God is every other decision, including no decision or perhaps finding an excuse that satisfies you. Every excuse is without merit. God’s power is ever so much greater than just His creative ability and includes the perfect test to determine your worthiness and He did not miss a single thing including all the possible excuses humankind would invent for the life they choose to live. If you do not understand God’s purpose, how can you possibly imagine an excuse for failing to be successful in life?

So, men and women fumble around trying to figure out HOW our existence occurred and it amounts to wasting the valuable time each person has to discover what life is really all about.

God and His message are quite different than what has been taught, drastically different and yet you can understand God very well, if you so wish, if you are diligent, if you want heaven, if you love the truth more than what you currently believe. The real battle is between you and sin and the gospel message is there so you can win and in fact without the truth of the gospel you will fail in the only thing that matters in life.

Defining God’s Purpose

There is a consistent theme throughout scripture. Of course, the scriptures are FOR humankind, being the singular complete and perfect communication between God and humankind. That is, since the beginning of time and specifically in relation to God’s plan for reconciliation (Genesis 3.15), God saw fit to have certain individuals create written records. Before this time God also communicated in various other ways such as directly with some, like Adam and Eve or through angels, prophets and then personally through His Son. In this last age, God communicates though His word and that is through Christ, the new covenant, the perfect covenant and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to guide the apostles into all truth. Despite a world that would think there could have been a better way, God’s means of communication is always perfect in terms of achieving HIS PURPOSE. The word of God teaches us that the scriptures are perfect in converting the soul (and that is God’s purpose) and God’s word is referred to as “that which is perfect” and was completed during the first century.

Hebrews 1.1-3

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

God’s purpose for creation of humankind was to find those worthy to spend eternity with Him. When humankind failed, God created an expensive way of escape (the horrific death of His Son). God wants you to be successful, but will not accept those who are proud, selfish, self-seeking, filled with anger, hatred, and without the courage to do the right things. Those right things are defined by God as a standard to measure your eternal success or failure. Jesus says a person must lose his life to gain it and this entails living for Jesus instead of for yourself.

Going Back To Genesis to Understand the Gospel

Genesis 3.15

15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.

God will place enmity or opposition/hostility between Satan and her Seed. God’s answer to what had just happened, namely sin, would somehow be addressed by the Seed of woman. God’s plan involved bringing the solution through the Seed of woman, a “Man” who would deliver a bruise to the head of Satan that is a serious or mortal wound to Satan and his plans. God would allow this Man to suffer a bruise to His heel that is a painful, but temporary wound.

It is quite amazing how this all “plays out.” I cannot envision a man or woman conceiving of the series of events that would actually occur based on what God said here to Satan. It would truly be what life was all about, and very directly (God directing this statement at Satan) show the “beginning” of a battle between good and evil. It was in response to sin, a spiritual thing, and God was bringing a spiritual solution. Today, we can easily understand the meaning of what God revealed in Genesis 3.15, and yet few understand. Even though God knew full well that Adam and Eve would not understand what was said at that time, God also knew that in these “last days,” man could easily understand.

First, let’s note that God speaks of “her Seed.” Over much of the early history of mankind, women were not generally, if at all, thought of as much more than a possession of man. Even in childbearing, it was the seed of the man that was responsible for reproduction with the woman simply being a place for the early growth of a child. So when God mentions the Seed of woman, it would be something that man would not understand until more modern times. Yet why didn’t God say the seed of man and the seed of woman since all children that have been born into the world are the result of the seed of man and the seed of woman? It was not a mistake on God’s part. We are to learn over a thousand years later from Isaiah:

Isaiah 7.14

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Later in Matthew 1.21–23, we have a similar statement, but we learn that Immanuel is translated, “God with us” and that His name shall be given as Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.
Jesus would be the Seed of woman, a virgin bearing a Son. God reveals a great deal more about Genesis 3.15 in Luke 1.26–38.

gabrielmary

Luke 1.26-38

26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Certainly, as God told Satan, the Seed of woman would bruise his head, and now we learn that Seed would be the Son of God. It would be Jesus, the Messiah; the answer to man’s spiritual, eternal problem was to be Jesus. He would be born of woman’s seed and not of any man, but also conceived of God the Father. He would have the likeness of man, but also be called the Son of God. Now, we can further improve our understanding of God’s plan from Genesis 3.15 by studying Genesis 12.2,3. In these verses, God makes certain promises to Abraham:

I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

All the families of the earth shall be blessed in Abraham. It would be God’s plan to bring Jesus through the lineage of Abraham. For this reason the children of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob (would be called Israel) or, as we know them, the children of Israel or the Jewish nation would become God’s people. It is only for this singular reason, the reason of Genesis 3.15, and God’s spiritual purpose to bring Jesus that the children of Abraham are God’s chosen people. It had to do with providing the blessing, the reconciliation that was to come to all nations, but first to the Jews. As part of that plan, God would support the children of Abraham in certain ways that would benefit them, especially as they were obedient. God also through Moses and others would be laying the groundwork for the coming of the blessing. One key element was that of the priestly offerings made for the people. All of the Old Law is a shadow of what was to come in Christ. So the lineage of Jesus beginning with Abraham covers forty-two generations. Finally, in Joseph, Jesus’s earthy, but not actual father being the husband of Mary, Jesus is born. The generations from Abraham to Joseph, husband of Mary, are given in Matthew 1.1–16. As indicated above all the nations of the earth would be blessed in Abraham’s seed and we see this clarified in Galatians.

Galatians 3.27-29

26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are ABRAHAM’S SEED, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.

God’s focus was always on the reconciliation with man. Jesus was the answer. Isaiah is just one of many places where God during the time of the lineage would be revealing information about the Messiah and His purpose. Isaiah 53.4,5 provides some details of God’s plan in Christ:

Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

We see the Messiah being wounded and bruised for us, for our iniquities, that is, for our sins. We can read on in Isaiah 53.9, 10, 11 and see that this Messiah would be without sin and God would allow Him to be bruised. Furthermore, that “God’s Seed” would be made an offering for sin, and it would satisfy God. As a result of this bruise, which in reality is the suffering and death of Jesus, many will be justified, “for He shall bear their iniquities.” It might not seem to someone that the terrible suffering and death of Jesus could be a bruise to His heel, but God looks at things spiritually, eternally. Jesus accomplished God’s will and receives the honor, sitting at the right hand of God. Our faith can be greatly strengthened by the study of God’s Word. There are so many things in the lessons from God that can help us to be eternally successful. Look to the patience and obedience of Jesus in the process of reconciliation. Jesus could see the suffering and death as temporary, as a bruise. Look at the certainty of every Word that comes from God. Realize that life is about the soul, about the eternal, and live and make decisions with that understanding.

Beginning To Unveil The Gospel Message

God has done His part in providing the unspeakable gift to humankind, now what does God require of humankind?
There are many people, who call themselves Christian who understand and believe much of what has been said above – they believe in God. The gospel message however, eludes them and what follows is what they need. The truths in the scripture are powerful and the “student” is impressed by the power of God’s word. It seems everything they learn from this teacher will be the truth. Certainly (they think), the next thing taught will also be true. It makes it easier to gain approval of what will be taught NEXT, because now the listener is vulnerable. In any case, at some point in the process of teaching; the truth is missing. The piece missing is usually the gospel message and really the root cause is respecting what men/women teach instead of honoring the word of God. Failure to honor God in this most critical matter leads to a multitude of error-filled teachings on just about everything. The church is misunderstood as is sin, as in the end of the world and judgement. It all seems so innocent and yet the consequences of failing to come to a knowledge of truth and acting consistent with the truth are eternally costly. It is not so innocent since each person who fails has made choices either for the world or for Christ. As the verse below indicates a person choosing to live for themselves, that is for the things the world offers will in effect be blinded such that they will not know the gospel message.

2 Corinthians 4.3,4

3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

On the other hand, those that receive the word of God as indeed from God and not from humankind receive the truth. This word works effectively in those who believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

I would like to start by talking about God’s purpose for creation, really His purpose for you and then the fulfillment in Jesus and what Jesus promised in terms of the kingdom. Finally, the time had come, Jesus suffered the terrible death, was buried and arose on the third day. All this preparation and now it was nearly time for the gospel to be preached and the reconciliation to be realized.
What will be different about the gospel preached then and the message believed TODAY by the masses of people who call themselves Christian, but are not? The difference, besides being the truth, will be all the evidence and how God in His word has perfectly tied together all things in only a way God could do. The differences are everywhere and in everything between the gospel brought by humankind and what God has provided in His word. It is not a matter of having a small difference here or there, but it is the difference between obedience and disobedience, between being a Christian and not being a child of God.

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
IS PREACHED THE FIRST TIME

The gospel message was preached the first time in Acts 2 after the apostles received the promise from Jesus (in Acts 1) just before He raises to heaven.

Acts 1.8

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The apostles did receive power and it came in the form of the Holy Spirit “falling on them” in the form of divided tongues, as of fire and sat upon each of them. They could then speak in the various languages (or tongues) of the different Jewish nations gathered there for the feast of Pentecost. This would amaze the hearers as each heard the apostles in their own language. Peter would now deliver the truth about Jesus and indicate what the Jewish leaders had done to their Messiah. Upon the question of what should they do, Peter NOW knows having received the Spirit of God, the correct answer – it is the Gospel answer. Before the question was asked, Peter delivered the background message that was very specific to this group and to this day.

Acts 2.22-37

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—
23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
25 For David says concerning Him:
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’
29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
33 Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”’
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

Now, Peter has pointed out that this Jesus, whom you crucified is both Lord and Christ and they are “cut to the heart” – they believe the words of Peter. Peter’s answer that day to, “what must we do” is the same answer that would be required throughout this last age of humankind. It is an answer that is supported by all the conversions of the New Testament and the authorized (Holy Spirit inspired) words of that covenant.

Acts 2.38

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The church grows rapidly following what happened here in the previous verses. We learn an important fact in Acts 2.47 and that is Jesus is participating in the process by adding the obedient to His church. It is His body, it is the kingdom, it is HOW Jesus is doing as He indicated when He said, “I will build My church.” It is a spiritual church, a spiritual calling out and as Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.”

Acts 2.47

47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

During the first century, the Holy spirit would define a physical, local place and organization that we call “church.” It is where those IN CHRIST, that is those added by Christ by their obedience are to fulfill the authorized work given to a local group of saints. It is as far from what the “Christian world” considers the church to be, as they are from understanding the requirements to become a Christian.

The Conversion of The Ethiopian

Phillip hears the Ethiopian reading Isaiah and that begins a conversation leading to preaching Jesus and the gospel.

Acts 2.30-38

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this:
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.”
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.
36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

The essence of the gospel being preached is always the same. That is, Jesus is the savior and He suffered the terrible death, was buried and rose again. In this case, the Ethiopian eunuch asked Phillip a question, which he answered and then continued to preach the gospel. The record of conversions does not mention in every case all that must be done to receive forgiveness of sins. Below is list of which requirements are mentioned for each conversion. If we look at all scripture, God ties together several things in order to receive forgiveness of sins, or being added to the church (spiritual) by the Lord or sometimes entering the kingdom, which requires one to have their sins forgiven. These things all follow receiving the instructions in some way and those instructions come to truth seekers who seek God and not only hear, but they are willing to obey. A person must believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and believe the gospel message, that is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Then that person must repent, change their life by forsaking any sin that has been there in the past. Next, such a person is not ashamed of the gospel and of Jesus and this is shown in their willingness to publicly confess Jesus as Lord. Finally, the person must be baptized and this is where there is contact with Jesus as you obey that form of doctrine, that is the gospel form being buried with Christ in the watery grave, therein dying to sin and finally raising up into a new life – a spiritual life. These actions do not place you in heaven, but if done with a good heart, the Lord places you in His spiritual kingdom – the church, the kingdom that is not of this world.

The Conversion of Lydia

Acts 16.14,15

14 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.
15 And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

The conversion record of Lydia is very brief, but we know what God commands for conversion and we can be certain this is what the apostles taught as they were being guided by the Holy Spirit.

Conversions Of The New Testament

The following chart simply presents the record of what happened at each conversion in the New Testament relative to God’s commands.
table5

Crispus and Many of the Corinthians Were Converted

The gospel message is often strongly and violently rejected as we see in Corinth, but in another place in Corinth it is accepted and believed.

Acts 8.5-8

5 When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.
6 But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
7 And he departed from there and entered the house of a certain man named Justus, one who worshiped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.
8 Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.

We can look at the authoritative examples of conversion and gain the understanding God intended. The list of conversions is given in “Conversions of the New Testament.” It is the same list as the table above, BUT additionally that page answers many common questions in relation to these conversions. Once you come to understand God you will see the gospel message is “just everywhere” in the scriptures. We see that either the stage is being set (in preparation for the gospel) in the old covenant, or Jesus is speaking of the kingdom that is near at hand. Nonetheless, the gospel remained a mystery until the message of reconciliation was finally revealed by the apostles on the first Pentecost following the death of Christ.

Ephesians 3.8-12

8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,
11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

You have seen how brief the gospel message can be and now we will focus on understanding the deeper meaning behind the gospel message. Especially, how God’s purpose is being fulfilled and the “why’s” as God has revealed them about the process of conversion.

How God Sees You and Sin And The Gospel

You are the purpose for His creation, that is to determine those worthy of spending eternity with God and the scriptures are clear that God wants the best. Sin is the thing that will stand in your way to eternal life (heaven). It will be a free will choice you make and since “everyone sins” there is no apparent way to be successful. Jesus, in a sense becomes the best for you, inasmuch as He is a covering for your sin for eternity.
In the old covenant sins could be forgiven for a year in the manner described by God, but it was not permanent, but only for a year. This is because the sacrifice was not perfect, it involved animals and although the best available animals were used that sacrifice would never permanently erase sin.
God’s plan was given to Adam and Eve after their sin, but of course they could not understand it or could the prophets that followed. Today, and since the time the gospel was first preached and the associated revelations of the New Covenant, it can be understood. Jesus, would be the seed of the Virgin Mary and thus took on humanity. In order to have sins forgiven forever there needed to be a perfect sacrifice and Jesus would live the perfect life, that is, without sin. Jesus would suffer the terrible death beginning on the night He and the disciples went to the garden of Gethsemane and he was taken by the Jewish leaders beginning the ordeal. Jesus would die on the cross, be buried and raise on the third day according to the scriptures.
Near the top of this page is 1 Corinthians 15.1-4 is highlighted and it defines the gospel in terms of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This is the gospel message you need for salvation and you need to obey it and live in accordance with its author (Hebrews 5.9).

1 Corinthians 15.1-4

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

Notice how Paul indicates FIRST OF ALL, he delivered, “that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
This is the gospel message! When your life ends, you will know that life was all about the soul and God’s plan of reconciliation for YOU was the gospel message. You need to know that now if you want a successful life, really a successful eternity. Standing in your way of success is YOU, your pride, your selfishness, your desire to have all you can in this short life.

NOW there must be a way for a person to connect with Jesus in order to receive the benefit, that is, the salvation of their soul. Salvation is the very essence of the gospel message and in that connection between Jesus and a person there will be the forgiveness of sins.

Let’s repeat the first answer to what Peter preached in Acts 2 when asked, “What must we do?”

Acts 2.38

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Peter, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit tied together Baptism and forgiveness of sins. This is the link that brings a person in contact with the blood of Jesus. Just as Jesus died, was buried and rose again so we shall die to sin, be buried in baptism and rise up out of the watery grave as a new person in Christ. If you fail to do this (or do this for some other reason) your sins have not been forgiven. Romans 6 is very clear about this:

Romans 6.3,4

3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Then we see in Romans 6.17 how a person obeys from the heart, that FORM of doctrine (obeying the gospel, that is obeying the Death, Burial and Resurrection in Baptism).

Romans 6.17

17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

What is behind your obedience, your going down into the watery grave? It is faith and that comes from the word of God, which so instructs you. It is your choice and God has provided you the answer to sin.
Behind what you do in relation to your obedience is FAITH. You come in contact with the blood of Christ in the gospel, when you are buried with Christ in baptism.

Galatians 3.26,27

26 For you are all sons of God through FAITH in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as were BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God’s plan goes back to Genesis 3.15 and along the way, we see Abraham being told by God that in His seed All NATIONS would be blessed. We know that the blessing would come in Jesus and each person would be blessed by contacting the blood of Jesus in baptism. The conversion of the gentile Cornelius in Acts 10 provided the first instance of the blessing being as promised for ALL NATIONS – not just for the Jews. There is indeed no difference, Jew or Greek, Slave or Free, Male or Female, but all are one in Christ Jesus.

Jesus, of course was aware during His human existence what was ahead and the significance of the sacrifice for all of humankind.

John 12.32,33

32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.

Jesus died for all, but few will accept the gospel message and live for Christ.

Summary – The Decisions We Make – Simplified

In the end, we will either choose to follow after our personally developed beliefs or follow God. Our personal beliefs are seldom personally developed, but highly influenced by others. The prejudice against God’s existence has grown from a “few” to very large numbers of people. The “few” admittedly had a poor understanding about God, but nonetheless were in awe about the wonderment of life. If you asked a person if they believed in God, they would say yes. They had a long way to go to reach the gospel message and live it, but they were at least at step one. The early media went from aligning with and participating in things relating to God, heaven, and the scriptures, to silence on the subject to strong opposition including ridicule for those who hold a belief in God.

The “God Does Not Exist Movement” is infuriated against the God of the bible. Their goal is to help every person to see the folly in God and religion. Again, it is really the God of the bible they hate. If God, the God of the bible taught that every person should live as they wish, there was no sin and no punishment and all would end up in a fabulously better place; then there would be no opposition to God, certainly people would not be infuriated. Even if you did not believe in God, there would be peaceful co-existence with those who did believe. IT IS GOD’S Rules THAT PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE. Out of His rules and associated consequences comes the distaste and rejection of God and His word.

Root Cause of Failing:
Trusting Others in Spiritual Matters

God appears threatening to many people and that is seen as a terrible thing. God is also seen as making rules that limit how a person can live and apparently God should not be restricting how a person lives in any way. So, it is relatively easy to grow an anti-God movement since it removes the rules that most people do not want. The indoctrination can be strong enough to halt any search for God and truth. Nonetheless, you have made a decision and it is in full view of God. Despite all of humankind’s belief systems, there is one thing very few will deny and that is death is certain and coming one day closer with each passing day. Most people would also believe that with death comes the answer about God’s existence. They fully expect to no longer exist. Of course, they cannot REALLY know NOW that they will not exist. Whereas those who know the scriptures can know with 100% confidence that they NOT go out of life’s existence at death.

It seems to never hit people how they have trusted another person or persons or groups with their eternity. If a person really wants the truth they can find it and it will be much different than what has been taught to them by men and women. It will be much different than what has been developed by the religions of humankind. The truth is a spiritual truth and cannot be conceived by humankind. In God’s word there is truth, the truth you need. Many religions claim to have the word of God, but are so far from the truth that there is no benefit for them or those they convert. Jesus, told the Jews in relation to their converts(proselytes) that they were making them twice-fold a child of hell as themselves.

Matthew 23:15

15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

The Jews were the children of God to bring the Messiah through their lineage, but were consistently disobedient. As Jesus would also say, they were teaching for doctrine the commandments of men. So, even those with God’s word consistently change the word of God to suit their desires. Paul was amazed that there were those who were so soon teaching another gospel. You see another gospel does not help anyone, but as Jesus said makes those converts twice as much a son of hell as themselves. It is a serious thing to teach the word of God and those doing such need to consider every word and as the scriptures teach, if any man speak, let them speak as the oracles of God – that is God breathed speech. Another way of saying this is, “do not filter God’s word.” Those experts on God’s word are continually explaining God’s word by saying, “This is what is meant.” If they can explain something from scripture using other scriptures, then if they are careful, they can help others understand the truth. Once they enter into their private interpretation, the errors begin. God is very serious about the following verses!

1 Peter 4.11

11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.

2 Peter 1.20,21

20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

The ideas about God that come from the wandering minds of men and women are invariably terribly wrong and they build on that foundation resulting in ridiculous and soul-destroying doctrines. Yet, the gospel message is there and it is simple, understandable, and the one thing you need for a successful life. God’s design of the gospel poses the perfect test for humankind in terms of what God is looking for in people. God wants strong, humble, loving, forgiving, open-minded, lovers of truth and with the courage to overcome sin in their life. As Jesus indicated to succeed in life you must lose your life, that is live for Him and the gospel. It is a way of saying that all the things you might want from life you must give up to live for Christ. This is the test of life and as you see the kind of person God seeks, you can also observe that each life reveals these characteristics as present or missing. Each aspect of God’s creation plays a part in the test. Some stumble believing God does not exist and trust science in their explanation. Others act as though they are better than God and reject Him for his regulations that seem unfair. There are usually things people cannot accept in the scriptures. The God they envision could not be the God of the bible, because that God does not fit MY VISION of God. God’s test is designed to evaluate how you respond to His will, not what you think His will should be. Indeed, life is a perfect test and God will have the kind of person He seeks.

Out of this you can rightly conclude that life is difficult. God is not “the enabling God” taught by the religions of the world. Yet, God offers opportunity for you in the gospel by providing a covering for your sin via obedience to the gospel. It takes a person with the characteristics God wants to take advantage of what God provided in Jesus and those persons will seek truth, find it, obey it and live it.

The Gospel According To The Religions Of Men and Women

This next section may seem out of place with the topic of the gospel message, but many really need this sort of help. Heaven Coach is written help people to get to heaven, yet all you need is the scriptures. Unfortunately, there has been so many lies and various deceptions that some help/coaching is needed for those who are trying to find the truth. God has left the message in the hands of people who have the truth and they must bring that message. The message could be as simple as the scriptures are all you need. However, as YOU know in this world there is great confusion among those who follow the scriptures. In the most basic matter of your salvation, there is enormous disagreement and rarely does anyone understand it correctly. Similarly, few understand that the correct message is essential for YOUR salvation. How did that, which was left by the apostles become so confused? There has almost been two thousand years of corrupting the gospel message in hundreds of different ways. This next part focuses on a very significant part of how that happened. God says He is not the author of confusion and when you read the following, my hope would be that you will also see the simplicity of the gospel message. At the same time realize the confusion brought by men and women. Usually pride and carelessness played a big part in the silliness, even the outright ridiculousness of the gospel message originating from men and women – and not from God.

Four Things That Have Corrupted The Gospel Message

Understanding The Gospel Message Allows You To Better Understand All Scripture. Misunderstand The Following And You Will Likely Corrupt The Gospel Message:
1) Predestination
2) Faith
3) God’s Love
4) Catholicism

These private interpretations of scripture are devastating leading to a different gospel message. It is wise to first CORRECTLY understand the gospel message. That message has great clarity and a history going back to Genesis 3.15. The four things we will be discussing if misinterpreted (as well wrongly misunderstanding other verses) can and certainly have resulted in the creation of different gospel messages. We will demonstrate how that happened for the four subjects above. The truth in all these matters will perfectly fit together and be consistent with the gospel message.

Predestination-Devastates Protestantism-That Is Their Souls

If you now understand the gospel message, you can understand the scriptures in a better way, a correct way. Many teach a different gospel because they have been careless. If you want to understand salvation begin by understanding the gospel message. After all, the end goal is to achieve heaven and it is the gospel message you need to understand. Predestination is a good example where a person needs to understand the gospel message and then will be in a better position to gain the correct understanding of the verses discussing predestination. Some have looked at predestination and made certain assumptions and then proceeded to confuse the gospel message. If you leave predestination with the idea that God has already selected those persons for heaven (predestined them), then you may see the clear teachings on salvation differently. John Calvin’s interpretation of the predestination verses led to a strange and different gospel message, which is widely accepted among Protestants. His predestination doctrine can be stated as follows:

“Predestination is the doctrine that all events have been willed by God. John Calvin interpreted predestination as referred to in the bible to mean that God willed eternal damnation for some people and salvation for others.”

Even though this is totally in opposition to scripture and totally in opposition to God’s purpose, it is the basis of a series other new and foreign doctrines in relation to salvation. Indeed those doctrines an eternal disaster for those who follow them. In plain words, they never obey the gospel and thus never receive forgiveness of sins.

Let’s look at the bible verses in relation to predestination. As you read these verses you could come to believe several different things in relation to salvation.

Romans 8.29,30

29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

If you love the truth, you will want to understand these verses correctly in relation to salvation and that will require a study of all verses on the subject of salvation. One thing stands out and that is, “whom He called these He also justified.” The calling out in the scriptures makes one think of the church, which means the called out. The vehicle for doing the calling is the gospel. The gospel message is for the entire world and some will hear it and accept it and others will reject the message. All of scripture in relation to God has to do with obedience, that is people making choices. God in no way selects people independent of their will, of their choices.

Ephesians 1.5

5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will

We know God’s test would be meaningless if people were pre-selected for heaven. Predestination, as used in the scriptures must mean something else. How do we know this? God is very clear throughout scripture that there are choices people make and those choices will determine their outcome. We can begin with Adam and Eve who made a bad choice as did Cain. God, did not force them to do the wrong thing. God wants none to perish and why would He want that if He were controlling their destiny?

2 Peter 3.8,9

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Why did God sacrifice His own Son? Then we learn that Jesus was the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him. Why is the gospel to be preached to the whole world? Why is there joy in heaven over one soul who repents.

Luke 15.10

10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Why does God give advice to those who have been obedient? He knows that even these can make choices that will result in the loss of their souls.

2 Peter 4.17,18

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?
18 Now
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

God’s creation of humankind was special, even in the image of God. That image if you study the scriptures is much higher than other living creatures inasmuch as humans have an intellect, a unique personality and are eternal. In every way humans are different than the animals. You can make your own choices based on your intellect and it is important because you are eternal. Life is short, but the real you will go on to exist after your human life ends. All that God did was for His test. He prepared people by making them spirit beings (albeit locked in a physical body, in a physical reality (earth/universe) and in a time existence.

The whole of the bible points to the necessity of each person making correct choices in order to achieve heaven. Along comes John Calvin and changes that and then as a result changes the gospel message. One also learns of a number of other changes he makes in relation to salvation that come from his definition of predestination and his new gospel. These are his famous “TULIP” all of which are terribly wrong and misleading. There is a discussion of this under the title of, “The fall of Catholicism and Protestantism in one simple lesson.” Sounds a little far-reaching, but it is reasonably easy to expose the nonsense. You will have to stop respecting certain persons/personalities and reconsider your current beliefs and only be concerned with truth.

Note: When discussing Calvin, he also was the inventor of the doctrine of total inherited depravity and I do not know what came first (the chicken or the egg), that is, total inherited depravity or predestination. Both undoubtedly impacted his final version of the plan of salvation.

The entirety of the word of God points to people making choices. The emphasis is on obedience to God. Jesus is the author of eternal salvation to all those who OBEY Him. John Calvin and many others thereafter were seriously wrong and destructive to many. Not surprisingly, this error (in this case, Calvin’s doctrine of predestination) would lead to the creation of another gospel message. Indeed, that gospel does not result in the forgiveness of sins. In a very general way, we might call it the Protestant gospel.

There is one more verse using the word predestined to be discussed and thus we will have discussed the three places in the bible where the word predestined is used.

Ephesians 1.11

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will

This verse points out that:

Predestination is according to His purpose.

God’s purpose is to determine who is worthy to spend eternity with Him. A very good way of saying this is in the verse below, namely God’s purpose for us is to, “be Partakers of the divine nature.”

2 Peter 1.4

4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may BE PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

People will be making free will choices to accept/reject sin and obey/disobey God. Thus we learn that those who are obedient are “in Christ.” When you obey the gospel (called out by the gospel) you are added to the church (the called out) by Jesus. Realizing the predestination is in accordance with God’s purpose, it is therefore NOT the predestining of individuals. So, if we understand God’s purpose, we can understand what is predestined. Shortly, below we will indicate the meaning of predestination that is CONSISTENT WITH ALL SCRIPTURE and see how it enhances the gospel message as opposed to destroying it.

God makes it clear that He is not a respecter of persons and yet people try to make Him such by saying He selected certain specific persons for heaven. Despite John Calvin and now a world of others, God denies selecting people’s eternity by any other way than by their choices.

Romans 2.11

11 For there is no partiality with God.

James 3.16,17

16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

There is another verse, that if taken out of context has been used to support predestination. Actually, it powerfully teaches it is the gospel message that you need to choose.

2 Thessalonians 2.13,14

13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God has in the beginning chose you in the sense that He chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. Specifically, He called you by the gospel.

Note: Definition of “church”
Ekklēsía(from ek, “out from and to” and kaléō, “to call”) – people called out from the world and to God, the outcome being the Church (the body of Christ) – i.e. the universal (total) body of believers whom God calls out from the world and into His kingdom. These are the ones who have obeyed the gospel.

The point is God calls out people for heaven by the gospel and Jesus adds them to His kingdom, that is to the church, as He said, “I will build My church.” The church belonging to Christ is a spiritual kingdom and the world thinks it is a physical building.

In the end, you will be judged by the things done in the body as to whether they are good or evil. It will be the sum total of your choices and since there will be sin the only hope of success (heaven) will be your choice to know and respond to the gospel message and then be faithful unto death.

Therefore, what does the idea of predestination as used in the scriptures mean?

The thing predestined was God’s plan, which we heard of first in Genesis 3.15 that pointed forward to Jesus suffering and dying for our sins. Remember, this letter was written to the saints at Ephesus, so Paul can say, “having predestined us” (the saints, specifically at Ephesus in this case). In Genesis 3.15, God predestined the plan and it was clearly for reconciliation after Adam and Eve choose to sin.

Now, understanding the gospel message correctly, you can understand that God did not predestine certain individuals, but that He predestined the plan, and that plan will only attract certain types of individuals. That is, with certain characteristics – NOT SPECIFIC PERSONS. Those characteristics were discussed above and one very essential characteristic is humility. Now, you can understand the predestination that God describes in Romans 8.29,30 and Ephesians 1.5 & 11. It will be perfectly consistent with the gospel message. People make choices and a person’s attitude of humility, of courage, of love of the truth, of selflessness and many of the things we refer to as virtues are the things that enable a person to seek God, find God and obey the gospel. How easy a person can causally come to believe that God predestines certain individuals and then accept a humankind plan of salvation to the eternal destruction of their soul. You do not have to accept such nonsense and you will not if you love the truth sufficiently to accept nothing less. God’s plan is so perfect that the truth will not be found by those who are proud, selfish and love the world and really worship the world and all it offers. Therefore when God speaks of predestination, He is referring to an integral part of His plan that will deliver only those He desires for heaven. Those people will make a choice to live for Christ and the gospel and that choice for God is possible because of the gospel message, because they choose to obey the gospel.

If you begin by making certain assumptions from the verses above that people are pre-destined for heaven, then you can reason (human reasoning) that somehow the Holy Spirit is going to work on your heart in saving you. It is a conclusion coming from the logic of John Calvin. This is totally ridiculous in terms of what the scriptures teach. The spirit works through the word of God, because that is what is perfect in conversion. It is in this sense that the Spirit of God plays a part as indeed you are born again of water and the Spirit. 1 Peter 1.22,23 clarifies this even further:

1 Peter 1.22,23

22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever

It is the word of God, the gospel of your salvation and it is your choice to obey the truth, which is obeying the gospel. Throughout the scriptures God is pointing to the seriousness of life. The verses below dramatize this seriousness in relation to obeying the gospel.

2 Thessalonians 1.7-9

7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power

As an example, many have reached into verses on predestination and thought they play no part in their own salvation. Others have studied the meaning of faith and concluded God only requires a mental acceptance of Jesus. Yet, others have “read into” God’s love that He is tolerant and will look past their mistakes. How much easier would life be if there were no God or if we believe God seeks no retribution for those who violate His laws. There is one solid thing where we can come to the truth about these things and it is God’s revelation to us – the word of God. In His word there is a grave seriousness about life and there is a requirement of obedience and a life commitment to be demonstrated that is challenging. It is challenging because it requires presenting your bodies as a living sacrifice or as Jesus has said living your life for Him and the gospel. If your attitude is good you will see in Jesus His obedience to the Father and what that required. As much as humankind wants to maximize “getting all you can” in a life you live for yourself, the scriptures paint a picture of a difficult life for those who will truly succeed – achieve heaven.

The Christian churches are all excited about the GOING part of Mark 16.15,16 and Matthew 28.18-20 and emphasize their missionary work, as do the Catholics. The problem is they need to teach the truth and not the doctrines of men and women, which is quite frequently the doctrines of John Calvin and Martin Luther. As the verses indicate below, “preach the gospel” – “baptizing them” – “observe all things that I have commanded you” – “preach the word.”

Mark 16.15,16

15 And He said to them, “ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Matthew 28.18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

2 Timothy 4.1,2

1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

It does no good to GO and not bring the truth. Those that carry the gospel message must teach the truth, realizing their eternal fate and the fate of those they teach is otherwise endangered. The consequence is as Jesus told the Jews that they were making the converts twice-fold a child of hell as themselves. Paul would teach FIRST the gospel message and obedience to the gospel. It is apparent, when you begin with a concept like Calvin’s predestination or Luther’s “faith only” or an incorrect understanding God’s love you can easily compromise the gospel message. If you begin with the gospel message, you can correctly understand salvation and all of these other concepts will also be properly understood.

You can understand the gospel correctly, no matter where you begin to study if you have a love of the truth. Nonetheless, it is apparent that John Calvin and others since him changed God’s plan for salvation to fit with their understanding of (in this case) predestination. If Calvin respected scripture, he would have looked at all of scripture and determined that the eternity of individuals was not predestined, but God’s plan was predestined. Nothing in scripture points to the predestination of individuals – therefore that idea should have been rejected. I do not know the mind of John Calvin, but his ideas were very undeveloped and carelessly packaged and almost always there is “the pride in something I discovered.”

The Faith Of Protestantism – Martin Luther

Martin Luther would misinterpret certain verses especially in Romans, consider portions of Catholicism as correct from his background as a Catholic priest, and completely fail to understand the works (works of the law) talked about in the New Testament. Then, he applies those wrong understandings and defines his version of the plan of salvation. His plan of salvation omits obedience to the gospel of Christ. Nothing in his plan of salvation is needed except a mental belief in Jesus as God’s Son. He effectively removes repentance, confessing Jesus and Baptism. He changes faith to require no actions, but ONLY a mental acceptance of Christ. Bible faith always includes obedience and perhaps nothing is more powerfully and unequivocally taught in scripture.

A conclusion that is easily reached from the scriptures and mentioned different times within Heaven Coach is that life is not easy. People like Luther and Billy Graham and many that have accepted a different gospel appear to be making salvation easy and effortless. Mentally accept Christ as your personal savior and heaven will be yours. The scriptures are much different in terms of the initial obedience and the required life-long commitment. Jesus, during His ministry was questioned by a young rich man, who had kept the law and was very dedicated to the commandments of God. Yet, when the challenge was put before him, it was hard and he went his way.

Matthew 22.20-22

20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

You should not think, God asks any less of you in terms of the challenge. God wants the best and His test sorts out the best. It may not be your riches that God requires, but you will need to lose your life to gain it by following after Jesus and the gospel. Then Jesus points out, “what is the gain if you have the whole world and lose your soul? In Romans below, God’s children are to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, which is just your reasonable service.

Romans 12.1,2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God requires the best and only those who have their sins covered by the blood of Christ (who was perfect) in obedience to the gospel and continue to live for Christ and the gospel are acceptable. In fact, Jesus warned that picking up the cross and following Him was for those who would “stay the course.”

Luke 9.23

23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Luke 9.62

62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

The acceptance of Christ as Savior is essential, but it entails obedience to the gospel and faithfulness until death. Why would anyone teach differently than the clear message from God?

God’s Love: The End-All For Salvation

In the modern world, the gospel for many is simply “God’s love.” It can be stated as belief in God, perhaps Jesus and trusting in Him that all will work out and heaven will be their final destination. There are many verses alluding to the love of God and people with truly little to no understanding of the scriptures let their imagination go wild. The whole of scripture is very clear – if you love me keep my commandments (John 14.15). The following scriptures tie together knowledge of God and the requirement for obedience in a powerful way.

1 John 2.4

4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

2 John 1.9

9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Matthew 7.21

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

So, starting with the Love of God, people go no further and define salvation in terms of God’s love and nothing more. Calvin and Luther took giant careless leaps to support their theories and the result was another gospel message, which was not another. Now, the world with little or no concern for the scriptures changes the gospel message to consist of God’s love as the ultimate answer to salvation. Paul’s letter to the Galatians would describe how quickly some had moved to a different gospel. Since then there have been many hundreds of different gospels.

Galatians 1.6-9

6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Catholicism – The Ultimate Different Gospel

Perhaps the most devastating and obvious to those who care is the group earlier referred to as the greatest deceiver humankind has ever devised – The Catholic Church. To this day, Catholicism deceives people sufficiently to gain their commitment to their principles. It would seem for most that only in death will they understand how costly Catholicism has been to their eternity. If your concern is souls, then use the scriptures to learn God’s directives in relation to salvation. Of course, this would be the gospel message.
Catholicism began sometime in the 3rd or 4th century and their leadership consisted of evil, self-seeking, deeply cruel people enjoying life’s pleasures and great power. There must have been great paranoia for they were ruthless in their cruelty and yet without shame in their immorality. Murder, torture whatever was required to maintain their status was acceptable. They ruled as though they represented God, even claiming they spoke for God. They invented titles belonging only to God and required they be revered as only God should be honored. It was the beginning of humankind’s most oppressive religion and the beginning of devastation of hundreds on millions of souls. To this day there is a continual parade of souls who believe the lies and will suffer the great loss. Even those who do not believe, look at Catholicism and associate it with God instead of seeing the enemy of truth.

It should not be surprising that in their earliest days the first priority was to establish their authority as opposed to emphasizing the salvation of souls. So, here comes Peter as their way to great power and authority. They will use Matthew 16.16-19 to establish their authority by creating an on-going line of Popes and they say Peter was the first. The apostles of Jesus were given a helper, the comforter to guide them into all truth. They preached the gospel and as a result people were added to the universal spiritual church by Jesus. There was no Catholic church, no pope and yet people were saved. People are saved the same way TODAY in obedience to the gospel. Catholicism exists TODAY because of their violent past and the usurping of God’s rules by indicating that they have the right to make the laws as they wish.
Once again, there it is: The Gospel Message, the message of your salvation. The imaginings of Catholicism, of Martin Luther, of John Calvin and many more who verbally place their trust in the love of God, but not His commands are missing the mark, that is missing out on heaven. The book, “What Is Life All About?” takes on Catholicism (and many of the major religions) and anyone with an honest heart could not in good conscience look at the beginnings and doctrines of these religions and continue in them. Catholicism is the opposite of what God intended. Of course, the gospel message in the case of Catholicism is terribly distorted and costly to all those who follow its doctrines.

The Amazing Reason People Reject God

In most cases rejecting God begins with some form of indoctrination and it is often so casual and subtle that it is hardly noticed. The mass media is continuous in presenting a no-God philosophy and over time it is obvious that there is no God or so people come to believe. There are many little trick statements involved in a person reaching the desired conclusion. One of the most amazing ones is if God existed all these bad things would not happen and this becomes very powerful when the tragedy (whatever it is) hits “close to home.” Did you ever consider that God’s design includes certain inevitable things that are not pleasant – like death is certain. Most of the suffering is the result of choices people make and this is a consequence of a free will creation. In some way most of the suffering comes from sin, things that are against God’s laws. The tragedy in life will pass, albeit often exceedingly difficult – BUT – YOUR LIFE IS ULTIMATELY NOT ABOUT THIS LIFE. All those little reasons for rejecting God or rejecting the God of the bible are without thinking, nonetheless they snare the world.

Although, each person is of interest to God inasmuch as He wants none to perish (that is, be lost eternally), everything will happen exactly as God’s word reveals. Namely, the time of your “free will” had a beginning and for each person will have been a blessing or a curse. You will be judged by God’s word and you do not even know what God has revealed – it was your choice not to know, perhaps you do not believe in God. The root cause of your unbelief may be that you mistakenly believed that life is about this life. Life however, is about the soul, about spiritual things and all the things you experience in the physical realm in the end will not matter. Loved ones die and sometimes early in life and it is hard to handle, but life is not about this life. Life and death and suffering as well as joy, hope and successes all occur in life and some will experience more of one than the other. We conclude life is not fair, but again life is not about this life. If you understood God as He has revealed Himself then you could much more easily manage the bad times and be more thankful for the good times. If life were about this life and that was all there was to life then the losses would indeed be devastating, unbearable. However, if we look at those loved ones who died, we should understand they still exist. They may have succeeded or failed in life and God is perfect in judgment, and again judgment is according to God’s word.
There is an enormous difference between understanding something and just believing what someone tells you is the truth. All the anti-God rhetoric and the associated logic designed to confuse, the supposed anti-God evidence is not really comprehended. A person decides against God by placing their trust in some person or persons. The deceivers are bright people, who at one time were also convinced of the lie. Now, they are highly capable of convincing others about things that are not true in the areas of science and religion. It should be clear that you cannot trust anyone in matters of your eternity, because who would you believe? The scriptures on the other hand provide the truth and within the word of God itself you can find evidence – if you love the truth.

It is sad that a person will reject God because they abhor the actions of some religions for their deceit, for their cruelty. Of course, you do not really understand if those religions have any connection with God – they may be the enemies of God. You may have never considered that God hates their actions more than you do. Nonetheless, you reject God.

Roman Catholicism is a good example of something totally in opposition to the scriptures. It is the easiest thing to understand the evil of Catholicism and it lives today in false teaching resulting the loss of many souls. In almost every aspect, it is diametrically opposed to the scriptures. It is a physical church whereas the church belonging to Jesus is spiritual. This complete opposition to the scriptures is shown in painstaking detail in the book, “What Is Life All About.” The scriptures know nothing of Catholicism, except to condemn all such human created doctrines. The word of God is God’s only way of communicating with humankind in this last age. Therefore understand the word of God.

Ultimately, It Comes Down To Success or Failure in Life

It would be fair to say it comes down to pride versus humility. Pride closes the door to success for every person, whereas humility opens the door for the possibility of success. A humble person, open to the truth still needs to find the truth, obey it and remain faithful until the end of their life.
A great majority of people reject God because they look at the scriptures and see a God they do not like because there is a great deal to fear in the scriptures. If you come to understand God you will realize that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

Proverbs 1.7

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

God in his love wants you to be moved and fear is apparently the best way to wake you up from a life you are living for yourself. God does not want you to experience the horrendous fear that is inevitable if you fail in life. As the scriptures say, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, or as Paul taught the Christians at Philippi that they should, “work out their salvation with fear and trembling” or as he told the Corinthians, “knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men.” It is clear that if you reject the God of the bible because of fear, there will be great fear in your future. Solomon, came to understand that fearing God and keeping His commands was the whole duty of humankind.

Ecclesiastes 12.13,14

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
14 For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.

So, if you die having believed the teachings in relation to God of some man or woman, perhaps some scientist, perhaps a friend, perhaps some religions leader, perhaps some well-known person from the past it will be a decision you will regret, eternally. Believe God, obey His word and then you can open your eyes into heaven. This decision to believe God’s word will allow you to know with 100% certainty that you are on the right road, because the gospel message is God’s power to save.

People treat God as though He is some person. Consequently, they find fault with God just as they would with any human being and never realize God is the Almighty, perfect and faultless. Every Atheist, hopes there is no God, but would say they KNOW there is no God. How could they possibly know, so their denial of God is just a hope. It turns out there is, “no good reason for denying the existence of God.” A little milder version of this statement for the atheist would be, “there is no good reason for denying the possibility of God.” Atheists come armed with a multitude of “one-liners” that are dramatic, but are really just weak statements sufficient to convince those who are leaning towards a no-God philosophy. The recklessness of humankind to judge God when we are inferior by an infinite order of magnitude. “Evolution”, big bang, human suffering, and all the others – absolutely none of these provide any evidence that God does not exist. A “one-liner” for evolution might be, “everyone knows evolution is true.” A “one-liner” for the “big bang” might be, “we now have even more proof that about 13.7 billion years ago there was an event that started the existence of the universe, and eventually life and then eventually intelligent life. A more common “one-liner” would be if there were a God, “He would not allow this terrible tragedy.” Of course, why would’t God allow tragedy? It would seem to be a natural result of giving humankind a free will. God is not interfering in this last age. God DID interfere for instance in the time of Moses and many other times prior to the last age and the reason was always to assure that the plan to reconcile humankind would occur (in Christ). To clarify, God is not interfering in terms of changing the path to salvation or doing miracles in relation to conversion. That is, doing supernatural things that might lead one to convert. He does answer the prayer of the righteous. God planned that in the last age He would speak to humankind by His Son and that is through God’s word.

Hebrews 1.1-3

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

We have THAT WHICH IS PERFECT, namely God’s word that was completed sometime late in the first century. Those who look into the word of God with a “good heart” will know God exists and that He is the God of the bible and by His words we are saved.

1 Cor 15:1,2

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

Paul is making it clear that it is by the words of the gospel you are saved and to clarify where he received the gospel, he tells us in Galatians.

Galatians 1.11,12

11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Realize Where You Fit In God’s Creation and
The Folly of Humankind’s Explanations

God by definition, is a being infinitely above humankind in every way. God, as He says is seen in the creation. Yet, much of humankind continually find faults with God and many simply deny His existence.

Romans 1.20

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse

I doubt God could be any clearer in terms of putting man in his place in relation to Himself than in Isaiah 55.8,9. It is very authoritative and very much to the point.

Isaiah 55.8,9

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Unfortunately, science in its ignorance of God and only knowing the laws of this physical existence cannot correctly make judgments that relate to God’s creation. God says, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Science cannot explain how that is possible. There must be an explanation, a humanly understood process whereby there is a sequence of events explaining how light was created. So beginning with an assumption that there has to be some sequence and then studying the nature of the expanding universe a value for the age of the earth is determined to be about 13.7 billion years. A process called accretion is responsible for the formation of the planets. If you follow the “logic”, science determines that the earth and sun were both formed about 4.6 billion years ago.

Note: The reason for 13.7 billion years for the big bang event is provided in the shortest possible form below:
The reasoning for the 13.7 billion years relates to how the galaxies in the universe are generally moving apart. Science assumes the galaxies must all have been much closer together in the past. Knowing the current speeds and distances to galaxies, coupled with the rate at which the universe is accelerating, allows us to calculate how long it took for them to reach their current locations. The answer is about 13.7 billion years. The data from the Hubble telescope has been helpful in obtaining information needed to make calculations leading to the 13.7 billion years.

So immediately, they see the bible’s explanation of the creation and say, what nonsense! God, however, is not limited by the wisdom of man. God, does not need to go through some humanly devised sequence to create something. He simply says, let there be light and science cannot in their limitations, indeed the limitations created by God understand HOW God can do this. Therefore, looking at God as though He is a man, they vigorously reject the Genesis account. Of course, God knows all things and He describes the character of those who will reject Him. As you might expect, pride is the root cause for rejecting God and such people do not seek truth since in their pride they already possess the truth.

1 Corinthians 1.18

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Someone might say, God has fooled us, tricked us since the appearance of the universe seems to be much older and the beginning seems to be even 13.7 billion years. Science wants to require God to live by their rules, even though science has INFINITELY less knowledge than God. God has been perfectly accurate in His explanation of creation, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

I do not know of a nice way to say this. As I began, humanity treats God as though He is a person and thus God is limited in capability as is humankind. A person might say, I do not believe in God, so I do not treat God as a person. However, much of the logic bringing people to the no-God conclusion comes from characterizing God as a person. For example, if there were a God, he would not allow human suffering.

Do you know that all your objections to God and His will demonstrate your character. God said, the fool says in his heart there is no God. Claiming to be wise those denying God are careless and motivated by characteristics that are not acceptable to God. So, indeed it will be your character, your attitude that defines your success or failure in life. Selfish, proud individuals will be interested in themselves and not willing to hear anything that threatens what they want. In other words, you either trust yourself or some other earthly person more than you trust God. God says there is no excuse for failing to come to the conclusion that He exists! Now, realizing that God exists is a good and necessary start, but transitioning to God as the God of the bible is critical to your life success.

The Value Of All We Have = Zero

All the things that are currently important in your life have no lasting value. Things like your education, your family, your friends, your bank account, your dwelling place, your vacation, your job and anything you can think of, anything you can see, and even any recognition you received will not matter because life is not about any of these things. Life is about your soul and nothing else. The way you live your life is important in determining your success. Your life needs to be lived for God, and for Christ specifically. As Jesus pointed out, to save your life you must lose it meaning live your life for Him and the gospel. Stated even more specifically, live for what God wants of you and not what you want for yourself. Can you see how the proud are going to be eliminated (fail in life) by the life process God has put in place. They will never seek God, seek truth because the only thing that is important to them is THEIR happiness, THEIR desires. Jesus, is very blunt in explaining the relationship you need with Him versus the relationship people have to the world and all it offers. Jesus makes this clear when He states, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses His soul.” Do the scriptures concern you, scare you, wake you up to the reality of God and His ways – I hope so! The gospel message is there FOR YOU and exists because Christ was raised up and hung on a tree FOR YOU. It was for the purpose of drawing all people to Him and today He is blasphemed by many, His word is butchered by many and the world rejects the only hope they have and will only know these things when it is everlastingly too late.

Time Is Running Out, All You Have Is Your Lifetime

James 4.13-15

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

God, His purpose, His plan, and the gospel all reveal the pride in the person who rejects God’s way for their own. Invariably, the person of pride and selfishness never seeks the truth, but are focused on getting all they can out of the “SHORT VAPOR” of their existence. As James indicates, there is an uncertainty of tomorrow – for you may not have tomorrow.

God’s plan for those who succeed in life is not a vapor that appears and then vanishes, but a WONDERFUL never-ending eternity. To those who fail, it is an end that continues in great unpleasantness. The point of Heaven Coach is simply to help the person who wants the truth to find it in a world that is not helping. It is the religious world that is not helping, a media world that is not helping, a scientific world that is not helping and a world that enables to the point one can believe all is well when it is not. Heaven coach does not tell you what to believe, but to understand what you believe. As Heaven Coach stays in the boundaries of the truth of the scriptures, that is, what God has revealed you can trust this source. God’s word is perfect in every way and that includes joining everything together perfectly. As always, test the things you believe.

1 John 4.1

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Death Arrives For Those Who Rejected The Gospel Message
The Pain Of Realizing It Was YOUR Prideful Choices
The Missed Opportunities
NOW, It Is Serious, Devastating and Eternal

What is the worst thing about being lost, well besides the obvious (your life was a failure) it may be that you recognize your gullibility in believing that all you saw just happened from nothing. A teaching such as the “big bang” theory says something “exploded.” The something is called primordial soup, which is a name that attempts to protect the lie. The truth is, why does anything exist? There would be nothing to explode or as science might say, an expansion occurred or a singularity of infinite temperature and density resulted in an expansion. Same question, why does anything exist, what expanded, why was their temperature, why was their time? The existence of ANYTHING, the design of EVERYTHING, the Order of EVERYTHING suggests just one answer – creation – In The Beginning, God!

People Work so Hard to “Shoot Themselves In the Foot”
To Destroy Themselves Eternally
It Will Be A Heavy Weight To Carry Your Pride Through Eternity

Of course, the dedication of those who reject God is relentless. The next question, which comes with some quirky smile is, “why does God exist.” If one answers God always existed, then the response is matter always existed. It is interesting how those who cannot accept God’s existence typically say that those who believe in God are not logical – when the opposite is true. Matter needed to come from somewhere, whereas God represents intelligence which could create anything just by the definition of such a being. There is intelligence in the design of everything and most know matter is not intelligent. Logically, the existence of a creator is the only thing that makes sense. Getting from there to God and the creator being the God of the bible comes only from the message God has provided to humankind. Therein are the answers to life and those who enter God’s word with a good heart will learn about God, understand God and with courage be successful in life. A dedicated believer can know with 100% certainty that God is the God of the bible. The gospel message is for those who love the truth and then for them to carry the gospel message to others. God will have exactly those He wants for heaven and it certainly will not include those who reject Him. The Lord’s children go about helping others, typically one soul at a time. You see the gospel message is infinitely more powerful than the science (so-called) of those who hate God and openly convert others to their godless position. They will all die and then be amazed with their continuing existence. They are NOT headed for a scientific explanation from God, but for an accounting of their sins and without the blood of Christ to cover their sins it will be an horrific end. Life is not about this life, life is about the soul. In other words, life is about the spiritual. God reveals that the things seen are temporary, whereas the unseen things are eternal. So science works on disproving God with the physical, when it does not matter and the real problem is that God, the God of the bible, the only God that ever existed is underestimated in His infinite power.

Understand God, His Purpose
Then You Can Understand Genesis As God Intended
Those Who Love The Truth Will Understand The Message Of Creation

You can understand that God’s Genesis explanation was not a scientific answer for humankind, but simply tells humankind there is an almighty power and that God is the God of the bible. It would also suggest that it is not important for humankind to know the science of creation, because life is not about THIS LIFE! Then, is the explanation in Genesis INCORRECT? Of course not, God cannot lie so what we have is God’s explanation in light of His purpose and in light of the imposed limitations of humankind to comprehend.
Did God do exactly as He said in Genesis? Yes, He did exactly as He explains in Genesis the first chapter. Of course, God can do anything and humankind can give all sorts of reasons within their limited capability as to why the Genesis account cannot be correct. Yet God, who creates everything by speaking it (really no more than a thought, if that) is not subject to humankind’s suppositions. I do not know the science of creation, but I do know God could have created trees by planting seeds or simply by creating the tree at some apparent age. God created the first man from the dust of the earth and not from a “birth process”, i.e. a baby. He created the first woman from the rib of the first man. There was no pregnancy, no birth, but simply God creating the first man and woman immediately with intelligence, the ability to communicate, and the ability to be creative. Of course, humankind unlike the other living creations were created as spiritual beings. I do not know the science of how God “did creation”, but I do know IT IS NOT IMPORTANT and will never be important. The important thing is your choices because the “heavens and the earth will pass away and all the works therein.” When that occurs, no one will care to know how God did it, because then the only thing that will matter will be your eternity. It should be the only thing that matters now, because now is your only opportunity to obey God and be successful in life.

God Limits Humankind, But You Should Not Think You Can Limit God

We are talking about the gospel message and that is what is important. Now here come the cries, God fooled us by giving certain appearances (we see in our science) that are not consistent with the Genesis account. God does not tempt and does not confuse and if you are fooled it is because you have never strongly desired the truth. Confusion is the result of people rejecting God’s word and even rejecting God’s existence. Science will never get it right since humankind has been limited by God. Nonetheless, God graciously provides some information in relation to creation throughout the scriptures. It is not science, that is physics, chemistry and so-on, but simply revealing that God is the creator and the God of the bible. It clearly is not consistent with God’s purpose to give a scientific explanation of creation, and in fact there may be no such comprehensible (for humankind) explanation. The ridiculous assumption that so much of the world accepts is that God is limited by the science He created for humankind. Of course, God is not limited in any way and life is not about discovering HOW creation occurred, but about the soul of each person. Humankind can see God in creation and should realize “all this” did not just happen. Nonetheless, as humankind pursues and promotes a godless existence they often become convinced of what they want to be true. God differentiates people by their love of the truth and there is no truth in atheism and obviously such people do not seek God and His truth. Although, God wants none to perish, He allows those who reject Him and His Son to travel through life headed for their great surprise. God even sends strong delusion to those you despise the truth.

2 Thessalonians 2.10-12

10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This is the God of love, the God of justice and the God of vengeance and indeed the only God who has ever existed. His love for humankind is on the cross, His justice will be in a perfect judgement based on the things you have done in the body. His vengeance will be swift as He says, “Vengeance Is Mine says the Lord, and it will be as a result of rejecting His Son and the message of the gospel which was designed for your salvation.

You Do Not Need Science, You Do Not Need Riches
All You Need Is The Gospel Message

The obvious lie, that everyone should recognize is that science teaches something as true that they do not understand – they have no idea why anything exists. If they do not know, to avoid telling the lie they should say, “We do not know the answers to our existence.” However for science, the subject of our existence is not about the truth, but about providing an answer different than a creator and at all costs providing an alternative to the scriptures. Like Germany followed the madman Hitler because he manipulated their national pride, so do people follow after the humankind explanations of creation because they do not want to be held responsible for their actions. Their comfort will indeed be short. Jesus, indicated that one should not fear the one who can destroy the body, but to fear one who can destroy both the body and the soul in hell. Science and religion both play the part of the one who can destroy both the body and soul in hell.

Note: Science and religion may seem to be treated very poorly on these pages. This side of death, that may seem very harsh. On the other side of death, for most it will be that science and religion were given a free-pass, that is treated exceedingly well. Of course, not all of science is against God, but if you look at what children are taught, what appears in the media (who are strongly influenced by science) then it is easy to conclude science is by-in-large anti-God.
Religion is no better, although they usually believe in God, they do not respect God’s word and carry hundreds of millions of people in a direction different than the gospel message.

The Truth From God Versus YOUR Attitude And What YOU Want

Heaven is for those who stand on their own two feet and UNDERSTAND what they believe. It is not that hard, humankind has made the truth out to be difficult. ALL YOU NEED IS THE GOSPEL MESSAGE. You will stand alone in judgment and those who you believed cannot help because they are in the same predicament. More than likely, they also believed someone or many someones. The scriptures teach, “you will seek me and find me when you search for Me with all your heart.” If you are honest, how many people prize heaven sufficiently to be diligent in their search for God? How many have itching ears, which is the opposite of diligent ears who seek God with intensity.

2 Timothy 4.3,4

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to THEIR OWN DESIRES, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

This warning, one of hundreds in the scriptures in relation to the seriousness of life is directed to the care to be taken in discerning the truth. How many know, could even conceive of the absolute necessity of the gospel message in their life’s. Every person’s hope for heaven is to be found in, “The word of truth of the gospel of your salvation.”

Ephesians 1.13

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation;

So many people will simply say, “I do not care, I do not understand, leave me alone.” Then comes the end and you exist! It will finally be understood how short the time of your lifetime really was in relation to eternity. It will all seem so silly, so foolish to have failed to see God in creation and to have seen God in the scriptures. You will face your own complacency, your own laziness that resulted in an, “I do not care” attitude.

Someone will say, what about those who do not have the ability to stand on their own two feet and discern truth from error? Invariably, this question is an attempt to find some flaw in the scriptures, some excuse for the one asking the question. You just do not understand God as He has revealed Himself. God makes no mistakes and is perfect in justice and just because you see a problem, do you really think it will be a problem for God? As mentioned, the physical creation is no more than a stage for the test and that stage and all the things that govern that stage are perfect for God’s purpose. The critical thing for God is you and do you think God’s test is less perfect than His creation? Do you think that what really matters to God contains some issues He never considered? Do you think that God should have given you all the details of everything so you could be perfectly knowledgeable of everything? The scriptures provide what you need and you do not know the scriptures. If you did, your question would be answered.

Human Logic For Opposing God
If I Fail It Is God’s Fault

A common objection to the God of the bible (as we have previously mentioned) is that in some way He is tricking people or being unfair. God creates humankind and then defines sin in terms of things the kind of people God does not want will pursue. He expects each person to make choices that do not break His laws. Thus, is God tempting humankind in their natural weaknesses, enticing humankind with all the world has to offer? No, but their free will choices will define their character as selfish or unselfish, loving or hateful, courageous or cowardly, forgiving or unforgiving, and humble or proud. After all, life is a test and there needs to be choices to reveal your allegiance to yourself or to God. In fact, God tempts no man and God graciously explains this in James.

James 1.12-15

12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Although God does not tempt humankind, He understands the poor choices people will make and for those who can face up to what they have done, there is Christ.

Life is a test and humankind must overcome some things, some desires and indeed God did place these challenges as a central ingredient in His determination of your success or failure. God wants the best and you can overcome sin, even with its difficulties. God is there to help those who love the truth. Every person will fail during their lifetime because of their choices, since all sin. It will be the choices you make and often made because of some vulnerabilities in your life – nonetheless YOUR choice. God provides the answer to sin and then the things to strengthen a person to overcome sin the rest of their life.

Philippians 4.11-13

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

God is the opposite of evil and those who spend eternity with Him will reject evil during their lifetime. Evil is in the world because of sin. God defined sin as an integral part of His test and every aspect of that definition is perfect for His purpose. The reason, I would suggest that people oppose that definition is because they do not understand God’s purpose and also because sin is limiting. All sin is against God, but sin (perfectly defined by God) is such that it damages the life of the sinners and often many innocent people are also damaged. How many people have been hurt by greed and by the selfishness of others? Every person needs to face up to who they are in light of the scriptures. Few will do anything, but laugh at such a suggestion and indeed these are not those God seeks, but all have the same opportunity. An instant following your death, you will regret living for yourself – you still exist and you MAY NOW know that what you needed was the gospel message. Fearing God during your lifetime is now seen as infinitely better than the eternal consequences you face. God’s use of fear was wise and humankind’s rejection of the God of the bible because of the fear of things like hell is seen as foolish. How things will change in an instant.
So, we preach the gospel and as the scriptures teach, the message is seen as foolishness by MANY or by a FEW as the power and wisdom of God to save.

1 Corinthians 1.21-24

21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;
23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

The gospel message is the message of Christ and Him crucified and how you can participate in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and thus place yourself on the road to heaven.
