What Is Really Important?

Correctly Understanding God and Life Is What is really Important

In The End You Will See That God Was Not The Problem

But Men Blaming God To The Point Of Convincing You that
Man Was Better Than God AND It Will Be Costly To You

It Is No Different Than The Times Of Adam, Noah, Abraham,
Joseph, Saul, David and onto Jesus’s Time On Earth

You Trust God Or You Place Your Trust In Men,
The Latter Is The Frequent, Typical And Bad Choice

The Wonder of a Wonderful world and yet the Terror of a Terrible world. Indeed how wonderful, how beautiful this world and our life’s can be and it is often just the simple pleasures of love, of children, of friends, and even pets. In the best of times there is the day to day concern of the good things continuing, maybe even getting better. Others fight daily to survive maybe in a war torn country where death, pain and suffering are the way of life. It is overwhelming and many struggle to find enough food to survive and those same people are often ravaged by serious disease.

So, what is really important? So, is life unfair? Why do people suffer? All these things, really all things related to life ultimately have the same answer. They are all related to God and His purpose. This page addresses, “What is really important in life.” There are separate pages that discuss human suffering and the fairness of life and the links below can help. As we briefly discuss what is important these other three subjects are interwoven.

Human Suffering
Wealth, Poverty and God
Fairness, Justice

What is really important in life?

One thing ultimately is important and in the end nothing else will matter. Of course, it is your soul, your spiritual existence, your eternal existence. Life is perfectly fair even in its suffering for some and abundance for others. One thing that can help you and I to understand this is God’s design of life is short and the “time” is so insignificant compared to eternity that it will not matter what you had or did not have during the time you were tested, that is during your lifetime. There is no way we can completely understand this since we are limited by God in our creation. One thing we can know if we understand God as He has revealed Himself is that God will be perfectly just in His judgments. Just assuredly as He knows every star in the sky and every sand in the sea, He will make no mistakes in His determination of our eternity. Every person can know before their death what the outcome will be but very, very few will actually know. Similarly, very, very few will even mention their soul as the most important thing in life. A hundred other things will be mentioned such as family, sports, marriage, money, cars, love, children, friends, vacations, good food, fame, personal appearance, power, health, peace, feeding the hungry and the list can be very long. Things such as faith, truth, worship, and sacrifice are more spiritual in nature but unless they align with you having a successful end to your life they will have no eternal value and thus are not the most important thing in life. Jesus emphasized the soul in many places, three of those places are:

Matthew 10:28

28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 16:26

26 “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Luke 12:19,20

19 ‘And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, [and] be merry.” ‘
20 “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’

The net effect of all these other things we think are so important is to keep us from the truth we need. They do this because they are the things we pursue, the things we are serious about and devoted. If you understand life is about the soul you may still pursue these things, but your priority is the eternal for yourself and others. Then these other important things in your life remain, but each has a different perspective. The goal for your family would be to help them spiritually. The one thing we know is that we die and that is unpleasant, fearful and certain. If we know what is important in life and make that our priority we can deal with our death and that of our loved ones. After all God is in control, and God’s children know that with the deepest certainty.
